IRELAND. THE SEXUAL HEALTH CENTRE LTD IS NOW SEEKING AN EXCEPTIONAL
INDIVIDUAL TO JOIN OUR COUNSELLING TEAM. THE COUNSELLING TEAM PROVIDES
A PROFESSIONAL, EFFECTIVE AND REFLECTIVE RESPONSE TO INDIVIDUALS
EXPERIENCING PROBLEMATIC SEXUAL BEHAVIOUR VIA OUR SALT (SEX AND LOVE
THERAPY) PROGRAMME.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Counsellor and Psychotherapist will:
* Provide services within the code of ethics of ICAP (or equivalent)
and which comply with legislation, the ethos of the Sexual Health
Centre and best practices in the field
* Provide a professional non-directive, non-judgemental counselling
service for people
* Provide telephone counselling, skype counselling and support as
required
* Facilitate counselling in group sessions for individuals
experiencing problematic sexual behaviour
* Complete individual assessments with individuals as required
* Maintain appropriate records in accordance with legislation and
information requirements of the Sexual Health Centre and funders
* Engage in supervision, management and staff meetings as required
* Liaise and network with other service providers as appropriate
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
* Counselling qualification of at least degree standard.
* IACP/IAHIP accreditation or equivalent.
* A minimum of 3 years? counselling experience including group
facilitation.
* Knowledge and experience of sexual health is desirable.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
REMUNERATION: Commensurate to experience.
CONTRACT: This is a contract of agreement for services.
HOURS: 1 group sessions per week (2 hours per session) plus 1 hour
peer collaboration. Due to the nature of the post, evening or weekend
is required.
The Counsellor will report to the Management team.
Appointment to this role is subject to the receipt of appropriate
references.
